India and
Afghanistan
have established a strategic partnership during the visit of President
Karzai to India in October 2011. India’s historical and civilization
relationship with
Afghanistan is being further strengthened by India’s active engagement in the developmental and reconstruction process of
Afghanistan. India has already committed two billion US dollars for this purpose.
Afghanistan joined the SAARC community
in 2010 and India stands committed to help
Afghanistan integrate into the regional economy of South Asia. India successfully hosted the Delhi Investment Summit on
Afghanistan in June 2012 to encourage private participation in the development of
Afghanistan.
